A Place to Land: Restoring Stability and Self-Identity in Adolescent Girls
Solid Ground is a structured six-day residential program for adolescent girls aged 13–17 in regional Australia. Designed for adolescent girls who require more intensive support than weekly outpatient therapy, but do not meet the criteria for acute hospital care, Solid Ground provides a safe and professionally guided environment for early intervention. The program brings together movement, time in nature, creative expression, peer connection, and guided skill-building—supporting young people in ways that are practical and restorative, helping them re-establish a stable sense of self. Grounded in developmental science and informed by evidence, it strengthens internal stability, identity, and confidence at a pivotal stage of life.
Strengthening the Missing Middle
Across regional communities, we see a consistent pattern: young people who are not in crisis — but are quietly struggling, and slipping through the gaps. Existing services often sit at either end of the spectrum: weekly outpatient therapy or acute hospital admission. There is little structured, developmentally appropriate support in between. Solid Ground is intentionally positioned in that missing middle — building internal capacity before difficulties become crisis.

Adolescence is a critical window & a powerful opportunity
What happens during adolescence shapes everything that follows. Early support that helps young people build stability, understand themselves, and develop the confidence to navigate challenges.

Why Adolescence Matters
Adolescence is a critical window where patterns of self-esteem, stress response, and identity take shape. When young people understand how their mind and body work, they build the skills to respond differently in everyday moments — strengthening confidence, steadiness, and self-trust.
Wraparound Support
Support does not end when the residential experience finishes. Solid Ground provides wraparound support for both young people and their families — before, during, and after the program. While young people are in residence, parents and carers take part in a guided online program and facilitated peer group, building confidence, connection, and practical tools to support change at home. Following the program, we continue to work alongside families, schools, and professionals to support each young person’s transition forward — with a clear Pathways Forward plan guiding continued growth.
